To craft exceptional beer, you need exceptional water. Introducing NEWBrew, a distinctive craft beer brewed with NEWater, Singapore’s premier ultra-pure recycled water. We are thrilled to partner once again with Singapore’s National water agency, PUB, to bring back NEWBrew for the Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) 2024.
This 10th edition of the biennial water conference, running from 18 to 22 June 2024, is expected to be attended by 500 global water leaders, 2000 delegates, 500 exhibitors and more than 30,000 trade visitors.
EVOLUTION OF NEWBREW
This year, we’re excited to unveil a modern twist on traditional lagers: a Pilsner infused with hints of tangerine and tropical fruits. This brew also features 50% less residual sugar than typical lagers, making it a lighter and more refreshing choice, perfect for the Singapore climate!
Graphics on the 3 different can designs showcase PUB’s mission of Supplying good water, Reclaiming used water, Taming storm water and Resisting rising seas.
NEWBrew is available at SIWW 2024 and at all Brewerkz outlets on tap.
2022 – Brewerkz introduced a Tropical Blonde Ale crafted with the finest ingredients: premium German barley malts, aromatic Citra and Calypso hops, and kveik, a highly sought-after Norwegian farmhouse yeast. The result was a refreshingly quaffable beer, perfect for Singapore’s tropical climate, with a smooth, toasted honey-like aftertaste.
2018 – A first in Singapore, NEWBrew made from 100% recycled water featuring a balanced body with bitterness and a delicious fruity pop of hops in the mouth and nose. A classic American pale ale with New World hops. It quickly became a favorite among international delegates and water leaders, thanks to its special taste profile and clean, ultra-crisp finish.
NEWATER: THE BACKBONE OF WATER SUSTAINABILITY
Since its inception, NEWBrew has showcased the potential of sustainable brewing with recycled water, inspiring similar efforts in Germany, Canada, and the US. This initiative also highlights the pressing issue of climate change, including the challenges of droughts and floods that jeopardize global freshwater supplies.
Launched by PUB in 2002, NEWater celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. As Singapore’s third National Tap, NEWater provides a weather-resilient, endlessly recyclable water source. Used water undergoes rigorous treatment at PUB’s water reclamation plants and further purification with advanced membrane technologies and ultraviolet disinfection at NEWater factories.
